Four high-value question types
- Main idea: choose the option broad enough to cover the whole passage but not broader than the passage.
- Detail: return to the relevant sentence rather than relying on memory.
- Inference: take one logical step beyond the evidence without inventing facts.
- Tone and purpose: use the author's wording, emphasis and reason for writing.

Mini practice passage
A university extended library hours during final examinations after students reported difficulty finding quiet study space in the evening. During the extended schedule, evening attendance increased. The administration said it would review usage data before deciding whether to repeat the arrangement next semester.
